چکیده
We experimentally investigate trap-loss spectra of the cesium 6 S 1/2 ( F = 4) → 71 P 3/2 Rydberg transition by combining atomic magneto-optical trap with narrow-linewidth, continuously tunable 318.6 nm ultraviolet laser. Specifically, atoms in are excited to state due laser single-step excitation, which leads reduction fluorescence. Based on spectroscopy technology, Autler–Townes (AT) splitting a strong cooling is observed, and parameter dependence AT interval investigated. The effective temperature cold measured using simplified time-of-flight fluorescence imaging. In addition, closed-loop feedback power stabilization carried out. This lays foundation for further experimental research related lasers, great significance development quantum computing information.

Single-photon generation from stored excitation in an atomic ensemble.
Single photons are generated from an ensemble of cold Cs atoms via the protocol of Duan et al. [Nature (London), ()]]. Conditioned upon an initial detection from field 1 at 852 nm, a photon in field 2 at 894 nm is produced in a controlled fashion from excitation stored within the atomic ensemble. The single-quantum character of field 2 is demonstrated by the violation of a Cauchy-Schwarz inequa...
متن کاملSubrecoil Raman spectroscopy of cold cesium atoms
We describe and characterize a setup for subrecoil stimulated Raman spectroscopy of cold cesium atoms. We study in particular the performances of a method designed to active control and stabilization of the magnetic fields across a cold-atom cloud inside a small vacuum cell. The performance of the setup is monitored by copropagative-beam stimulated Raman spectroscopy of a cold cesium sample. Th...
متن کاملRydberg Excitation of a Single Trapped Ion.
We demonstrate excitation of a single trapped cold (40)Ca(+) ion to Rydberg levels by laser radiation in the vacuum ultraviolet at a wavelength of 122 nm. Observed resonances are identified as 3d(2)D(3/2) to 51F, 52F and 3d(2)D(5/2) to 64F. We model the line shape and our results imply a large state-dependent coupling to the trapping potential. Rydberg ions are of great interest for future appl...
متن کاملTwo-photon dynamics in coherent Rydberg atomic ensemble.
We study the interaction of two photons in a Rydberg atomic ensemble under the condition of electromagnetically induced transparency, combining a semiclassical approach for pulse propagation and a complete quantum treatment for quantum state evolution. We find that the blockade regime is not suitable for implementing photon-photon cross-phase modulation due to pulse absorption and dispersion. H...
متن کاملEight-wave mixing process in a Rydberg-dressing atomic ensemble.
We investigate the eight-wave mixing (EWM) process involving highly excited Rydberg states with the assistance of coexisting electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) windows in a thermal 85Rb vapor both theoretically and experimentally. By use of a disturbance-free optical detection method, the Rydberg EWM characterized by multiple sets of spin coherence is presented via the in...
